The Company

Jobst Technologies GmbH, an iST AG company, develops and produces biosensors designed to measure key parameters of cell metabolism like glucose, lactate, glutamine, and glutamate. Our customers apply our sensors in a variety of critical medical and bioprocessing applications.

Our Offering

Our biosensors provide long-term, robust measurements directly in complex biological media. The sensors are based on immobilized enzymes to detect the target analytes with high specificity and reliability.
We are the unrivaled competence leader in bioanalytical monitoring applications offering our biosensors and microfluidic integrations to companies, institutes and OEM world-wide.
The flexibility of our technology portfolio not only ensures competitive development and production but also allows realization of cost-effective customized solutions.
With manufacturing capacities in Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic, Jobst / iST AG is a reliable partner for sensor solutions from concept to volume manufacture.

Our Impact

Real-world applications of our sensors include patient-specific metabolic monitors, blood gas analyzers serving hospitals in 90+ countries, organ-preservation and ‑transportation, analysis in bioprocessing from process development to ultra-high volume production equipment, organ-on-chip miniaturized measurement solutions, cell and gene therapy and other advanced therapies manufacturing and production equipment.
Past and current examples of impactful multi-country EU research collaborations include wearables to monitor metabolic conditions of first responders, dedicated organ-on-chip measurement solutions to elevate the field into broad acceptance and application, wafer-scale efficient microfluidic interfaces for CMOS sensors integrating biological components and silicone microfabrication, and automated, efficient and accurate sensor systems for process analytical technology in cell and gene therapy production.

Our Corporate Culture and Working Environment

At Jobst Technologies, we foster a culture of responsibility, transparency, and continuous improvement. Our employees are empowered to take ownership of their roles, contribute actively, and support each other. We embrace an open error culture, viewing mistakes as opportunities to improve. Our deep process understanding, and strong teamwork are at the heart of our operations.
Our quality management system is not just a framework but a lived practice, ensuring highest quality in everything we do.

Our Mission

At Jobst Technologies, our dedication to customer needs and satisfaction, technological leadership, and collaborative innovation drives us to create biosensor solutions that meet the highest performance standards.
Contributing to a truly global affordable health care for all, assisting to fight cancer, helping to avoid drug toxicity, and preserve donor organs, to name a few, are the applications we are providing

“sensing what matters by small smart solutions for those in need”.

History

Founded in 2002 as spin off from the chair of sensors at Freiburg Institute of Micro Systems Technology — IMTEK, Jobst Technologies started working as a campus based company.

2007: Jobst Technologies has own premises at the Biotech Park Freiburg.

2015: Jobst Technologies was acquired by the Swiss company Innovative Sensor Technology IST AG.

2022: Relocation to our new business premises in the Freiburg Innovation Centre (FRIZ).
